Letting go...

I'm sitting here at the office on a little triangular stool, big enough for one butt cheek...looking at the office iv come to every morning for the last two years. Its empty now.

The maid is worried if there is anyone else coming in soon...and how is she going to manage if she suddenly has to make do with 300 less rupees every month.

Iv been making plans to shift out've the office for the last 6 months. Now...sitting here in this empty space...I know why it took me so long. I just didn't want to. Working here for so long...spending so many late nights...working with the team...iv grown so much as an individual...as a person. I guess I didn't want to let go of all that...

Its also a bit scary now...no doubt, being an entrepreneur is exciting...but it also has its scary moments. This is one've them.

Will be a few weeks before I shift into the new office...looking forward to that :)

Started reading a really interesting book yesterday - 'the high performance entrepreneur' by subroto bagschi, one've the founders of Mindtree. Conversational in its writing, so an easy book to read...made me question some've my beliefs about business and - money. He says, ''business's have a social obligation to succeed.'' point being - new businesses create new opportunities, new jobs - create wealth. The maid in this office depends on this office - and I have a certain responsibility towards her.

Most times responsibility is tiring, taxing and draining. A lot of the time - ''i quit'' seems a very enticing option. You might even want to have a plan b,c & d. ....doubt is a precursor to success. Unless you don't have questions - you won't make the effort to find answers. Unless there is doubt, there won't be a push towards clarity...

I am a little scared...doubtful...anxious even....but I'm ok :) ...I'm calm...because...''cuz don't you know that rome wasn't built in a day'' ;)

So here's to as many failures as there will be successes in this new year 2007! One can't live without the other hehe

Cheers to one and all. Have a fabulous new years eve!
