So much has happened over the last few days...
my car brakes failed. That seven or eight kilometre stretch between Ranga Shankara and Koramangala was no doubt the most harrowing drive of my life. Throughout the drive (at no faster than 20km an hour) i had graphic visions of me dying...being involved in a horrific accident...
I now get what foreigners must feel like when they are driven around on Indian roads. Indians drive in 'anticipation'. They anticipate that the cow that's walking a foot away from the car isn't suddenly going to turn to the left - so the speed right past it...and they anticipate that the cyclist won't suddenly fall down on the road and be run over - so they speed right past...it's fucking insane man. I DARE anyone to try driving down ANY stretch of a busy road in India using only the handbrake...maine koi teer nahin mara hai, but it's just ridiculous man!!
Then i compeered an 'awards' ceremony yesterday....well....it was more like an 'award' ceremony...a well known playwright, actor, writer from Bangalore was felicitated (?)...hadn't done an MC act in public before so was a bit nervous - but the best thing to do when ur nervous is to just be yourself...so i tried and kept things light. Went well i think...
Going to delhi tomorrow for 'Design with India' http://www.ciionline.org/events/2755/about.htm ...i'm travelling by train!! I know it's quite mad to be taking 36 hours to reach somewhere when one could reach there in 2 (the difference between rail and air travel) ....but i'm going by train more for the adventure...don't think i'll ever do a 2 day journey to delhi by train ever again, so i think i might actually enjoy it....
The summit promises to be pretty huge...with the galaxy of speakers on board....lets see if it lives up to it's expectations.
Oh i watched 'the departed' the other day...have a feeling i've written about that in another post - truly awesome movie. Must watch - but on the big screen.
K, have to get back to some work now...might be another post on sunday after the journey...have a great weekend!
Cheers,
Karn
