Closing Chapters
...a few that never made it. Any form of completion is like a release...like bringing something into the world, and letting it take on a life of its own...
So i bring you....words....to your 'completion'...
Dost ki Shaadi
got back from a friend's reception party about an hour back...such a quaint gathering of people...
Happened at an army home...so big house with a large lawn up front...had white serial lights all over...ladies dressed in sarees and men in suits / formals...children running around...the bride and groom sitting on a sofa with flowers all around...what really set the mood was the 60's hindi music :) ...just gave the entire place a different charm...
was a bengali couple...so macher jhol and some other yummy food...after eating I just sat in one corner...looking at everyone around...I almost felt the opposite of the groom...I knew nobody there and everybody there knew him :) ...
True Friends
I sat there in the corner watching these bunch of people laughing...animated in conversation...uninhibited....just being themselves...
From imagining parents still 'at it'...to how one person we all hated would be systematically decimated! ....to marriage rituals where men have ghee poured over their testicles (with old men massaging them)...to what we were going to do on monday (with it being a bundh)....we pretty much talked about any and everything.
In between we started talking about our relationships (seems to be the topic of the season) and one amongst the group has been with his girl for the last 7 years!! And he's only 21! :)
We spoke about Japan....Ninjitsu....the Air Force....girls being brought up like tomboys!....my close friend's son taking up ballet instead of ninjitsu! lol...
Growing Up
I had another one've those 'growing up' moments today. They say, 'Maturity is when you give up instant gratification for something more tangible or fulfilling somewhere further down the line'
I made a small choice today to not go out and finish some pending work instead. No great shakes - just that i wouldn't have made this choice...maybe even a month back...or last week...amazing how these little things put some've the more important stuff into perspective.
Growing up is such a pain dude. I mean, there's getting responsible...making the right choices and everything else you must've heard ur mum and dad say for god knows how long (i was a bit of a pain, yes) ...but then somewhere, when you realize you've made a few choices entirely on ur own and ur making them happen...it's kinda cool :) and i guess you don't value the
One Winter Morning
I love a crisp bangalore morning! :)
I woke up early this morning (more like on time cuz I set the alarm for 6am, only to wake up - turn it off - and then finally surface at 7!) and pepper (one've the three daschunds we have) is at my feet, whining away - he wanted to 'relieve' himself :). So I took him up to the terrace, walked back down to take the car out of the driveway for it to be washed and as soon as I stepped out of the car (feeling less groggy), I noticed how thick the fog actually was!
hehe I love fog for one reason alone - exhale and you can see it come out :) hehehe reminds me of the few times I was in delhi as a kid. We'd wake up early in the morning (me sniffing away) and my badima would quickly put a shawl around me. This was in naraina vihar in delhi; they lived in a huge colony, in the middle
Chocolate Fantasies
I have a few *grin*
Imagine a landscape made of chocolate....trees of dark chocolate with mint chocolate leaves....pools of caramel chocolate...nutty chocolates all around....houses made of chocolate...all in different hues and shades of brown....a yummy chocolate brown...and all this to share with a beautiful woman by my side...heaven...
Chocolate fantasies....yummy indulgence...i think i'd still like to see a sunset though...a chocolate sun would be a bit much...
